Since its premiere performances in 2007 at the Brooklyn Music School and Playhouse, JDC has established itself as a dynamic incubator for dance artists and their collaborations. JDC’s provides a fertile environment for performers and creators to engage with the vital essence of dance, the oldest form of physical expression. Janusphere Dance Company was founded in 2007 by Danielle Genest, Jaime Kotbra, and Darion Smith. Initially based in New York City until 2014, the company showcases work from its resident and guest choreographers. JDC's talented dancers bring the artistic vision to life. The main themes of JDC's mission are creation, collaboration, and community enrichment. JDC fulfills its mission through public performances, new works, and collaborations with award-winning artists, community members, and professional dancers.
